The Kaplan MD Perfect Pout Lip Mask + Lip Duo (249 kr/ 24 USD) is a lip treatment duo for dry chapped lips. It contains:
– Lip 20 Mask (10 g/0.35 oz)
– Lip 20 Balm (5 g/0.17 oz
The Lip 20 Mask is said to deliver an intensive, nutritive boost to parched lips; instantly plumping, comforting and resurfacing lips that are looking neglected. This is an exfoliator for your lips, you apply it with the spatula that comes with the duo and leave it on for three minutes. It’s supposed to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles around your mouth and help repair and protect the skin on your lips.
The Lip 20 Balm is said to be an anti-aging lip balm that delivers intense hydration to heal dry, chapped skin while providing SPF 20 protection against sun damage. The formula is said to contain patented marine collagen peptides, hyaluronic filling spheres and 22 USDA-certified organic extracts to naturally plump and redefine the lip contour.
So what is my take on these two products? When it comes to the lip mask I can’t really tell a difference to be honest. It might be because I don’t have any fine lines around my lips to begin with, or it might simply be because it just doesn’t work. It stings, and tingles a bit but that’s about it. The lip balm on the other hand does plump your lips and make them look pretty and full. It’s not a miracle and you’re not going to end up with Kylie Jenner lips, it’s just a lip balm after all and not actual fillers. But it works as most lip plumpers do, it contains something that make your lips swell a little.
All in all? Neither of these products are a must have. I can definitely live without the lip mask. The lip balm is good, I like how it makes my lips look. I’m not very fond of the taste of it though. It has a sweet taste that annoys me. I do like that it doesn’t contain anything in it that annoys and stings my lips, I’ve tried other lip plumpers that have literally left me crying in panic and from pain. This kind of reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss, it has that same kind of minty feel to it. Is it a must have? No. Any clear gloss with a plumping effects is going to have the same result. Am I going to buy this again? No.
